Description

Session Leader: Chris Houghton, Head of Digital Scholarship, Gale International

You can analyse content in the Gale Digital Scholar Lab using six analysis methods that come from open-source libraries or lexicons. This workshop offers a review of the tools in the Lab individually. We’ll compare how various scripting libraries can be run locally as well as how they’re integrated into the Lab. We’ll cover what the tools do, how they work, how setting configurations change your outputs, and how they can be used to address research questions.

Audience – Anyone with some familiarity of the Lab that would like to understand the analysis methods in greater depth.

Outcomes – by the end of this course, attendees will have viewed worked examples of all six analysis tools in the Lab and have had a chance to discuss how they might apply to their own work
